Detailed Solution

Sarsai Nawar Jheel is a Permanent Wetland located in Takha tehsil of Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. It forms part of the wetland ecosystems of the Indo-Gangetic Plain and is primarily fed by rainfall from the southwest monsoon. It was designated as a Ramsar Site on 19 September 2019. Covering approximately 161 hectares, the lake is particularly important for the conservation of the Sarus Crane (Antigone antigone). Threatened bird species such as the White-rumped Vulture and Woolly-necked Stork are also found here. It has been recognized as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by BirdLife International.

Samaspur Bird Sanctuary is located in the Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh. It is a Perennial Lowland Marsh covering approximately 799 hectares and was designated as a Ramsar Site on 3 October 2019. The sanctuary consists of six interconnected water bodies influenced by monsoon rainfall. More than 250 Resident and Migratory Bird Species have been recorded here. These include conservation-significant species such as the Egyptian Vulture, Pallas's Fish Eagle, and Common Pochard. The wetland also plays an important role in conserving freshwater fish, aquatic vegetation, and local biodiversity.

Rudrasagar Lake is located not in Uttar Pradesh but in the northeastern Indian state of Tripura. It was designated as a Ramsar Site on 8 November 2005. Covering approximately 240 hectares, it is a Freshwater Lake fed by three Perennial Streams, with its drainage connected to the Gomti River system. The lake is important for local fisheries, aquatic biodiversity, and Groundwater Recharge. Its ecosystem supports various freshwater fish species and species such as the Three-striped Roofed Turtle. Increased Sedimentation resulting from deforestation, agricultural expansion, and land-use changes are among the major environmental pressures affecting this wetland.

Sultanpur National Park is located not in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh but in Gurugram district of Haryana. It was designated as a Ramsar Site on 25 May 2021 and covers approximately 143 hectares. It is an important bird habitat comprising a Shallow Lake, seasonal aquatic vegetation, and Grasslands. More than 220 Resident and Migratory Waterbird Species are found here. These include species such as the Sociable Lapwing, Egyptian Vulture, and Bar-headed Goose. The Ramsar Convention was adopted in 1971 in Ramsar, Iran, with the primary objective of ensuring the conservation and Wise Use of wetlands of international importance.
