Detailed Solution

Tropical Forests — Silent Valley: Silent Valley National Park is located in the Western Ghats of Kerala. It is a major example of Tropical Evergreen Rainforests. High rainfall, humidity, and favourable temperatures support the development of dense, multi-layered forests. The region is known for conserving rare species such as the Lion-tailed Macaque and its rich biodiversity.

Coniferous Forests — Himachal Pradesh: Coniferous Forests are mainly found in mountainous regions characterized by cold climates and relatively high altitudes. Important coniferous trees in Himachal Pradesh include Deodar, Pine, Fir, and Spruce. Most of these trees are evergreen and possess Needle-like Leaves. Their production of seeds through Cones is a major characteristic. Extensive coniferous forests occur in the temperate mountainous regions of Himachal Pradesh.

Mangrove Vegetation — Sundarbans: The Sundarbans is situated in the Ganga-Brahmaputra-Meghna Delta region across West Bengal in India and Bangladesh. It is among the world's largest mangrove forest regions. Mangrove vegetation develops in coastal saline waters and Tidal Regions. These plants possess adaptations such as Salt Tolerance and specialized respiratory roots called Pneumatophores. Sundari (Heritiera fomes) is one of the important tree species of the Sundarbans. The region provides essential habitats for the Royal Bengal Tiger and numerous aquatic and terrestrial species.

Deciduous Forests — Rajasthan: Trees in Deciduous Forests generally shed their leaves during dry or unfavourable seasons to reduce water loss. Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests occur in the eastern and southeastern parts of Rajasthan. They are found in parts of the Aravalli Range and regions such as Alwar, Bharatpur, and Dholpur. Important trees include Dhok (Anogeissus pendula), Khair (Senegalia catechu), and other species adapted to dry conditions. Western Rajasthan is mainly characterized by Tropical Thorn Forests; therefore, the entire state should not be classified as a deciduous forest region.
