2009 AD
2010 AD
2011 AD
Correct Answer: A
Detailed Solution
The National Land Records Modernization Programme (NLRMP) was launched by the Government of India in 2008. Its objective was to digitise and modernise land records and develop a more transparent and integrated land-record management system.
Its major components included computerisation of Records of Rights (RoR), digitisation of cadastral maps, computerisation of registration, integration of registration with land records, survey/resurvey and creation of modern record rooms.
NLRMP carried forward the efforts of the earlier schemes—
Computerisation of Land Records (CLR) and Strengthening of Revenue Administration and Updating of Land Records (SRA&ULR)—within a more integrated framework.
Current Status
With effect from 1 April 2016, NLRMP was revamped as the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) and implemented as a Central Sector Scheme with 100% Central Government funding.
The broader objective of DILRMP is to make land records accurate, updated, digitised and easily accessible online, while reducing land/property disputes and improving transparency in transactions.
