Detailed Solution

The earliest among these is Kitab-ul-Hind. It was written by Alberuni and is considered to have been completed around 1030 CE. In this work, Alberuni presented an extensive study of Indian religion, philosophy, science, society, customs and traditions of knowledge. History material of Netaji Subhas Open University also gives 1030 CE as the date of completion of Kitab-al Hind.

Next comes Prithviraja-Raso. It is traditionally associated with Chand Bardai, the court poet of Prithviraj Chauhan. Prithviraj Chauhan was a ruler of the 12th century and was associated with the Battles of Tarain in 1191 and 1192 CE. In the chronology expected by the examination, this work is placed in this 12th-century context.

The third is Tabaqat-i-Nasiri. It was written by Minhaj-us-Siraj Juzjani and was completed around 1260 CE. It is an important Persian historical source for the early history of the Delhi Sultanate.

The latest is Fatawa-i-Jahandari. It was written by Ziauddin Barani in the 14th century. IGNOU material places it around 1352–57 CE, or associates its composition with 1357 CE. It presents Barani's ideas on government and statecraft.

Thus, the chronological sequence is — Kitab-ul-Hind (3) → Prithviraja-Raso (2) → Tabaqat-i-Nasiri (4) → Fatawa-i-Jahandari (1).
