D.

Correct Answer: A

Detailed Solution

Kaziranga National Park is located in Assam and is particularly famous for the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros.

Kaziranga supports a very large proportion of the world's population of the one-horned rhinoceros. It is one of the most important natural habitats in the world for the conservation of this species.

Kaziranga was declared a National Park in 1974 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

Apart from rhinoceroses, it also supports large mammals such as the Tiger, Asian Elephant, Wild Water Buffalo and Swamp Deer. Kaziranga was also declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006.

Nevertheless, its most distinctive identity is associated with the one-horned rhinoceros.
