A.

C.

Correct Answer: C

Detailed Solution

The Inclusive Education for Disabled at Secondary Stage (IEDSS) scheme was launched in 2009-10. Its objective was to enable students with disabilities who had completed eight years of elementary schooling to pursue Classes IX to XII in an inclusive and enabling environment.

The scheme was a revised form of the earlier Integrated Education for Disabled Children (IEDC) scheme. It focused on educational support, accessibility and necessary assistance for students with disabilities at the secondary and senior secondary stages.

The distinction from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is important. SSA primarily dealt with elementary education, whereas the scheme in this question dealt with students with disabilities at the secondary stage—Classes IX to XII.

Current Status

From 2018-19, RMSA, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Teacher Education were subsumed into Samagra Shiksha. Inclusive education support for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) is now provided under Samagra Shiksha across Classes I to XII.

2009-10 → IEDSS launched
2013-14 → IEDSS subsumed under RMSA
2018-19 → RMSA and other schemes subsumed under Samagra Shiksha
