Previous Year Question
Helpline ‘Udyami’ is meant for:
Micro, small and medium enterprises
Large capital industries
Female entrepreneurs
Farmers using technology in farming
Correct Answer: A
Detailed Solution
The ‘Udyami Helpline’ was a Call Centre of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). It was created to provide entrepreneurs setting up enterprises, as well as those already running enterprises, with a single-point facility for information, support and guidance.
The Helpline was inaugurated on 21 August 2010. Its toll-free number was 1800-180-6763.
It particularly assisted first-generation entrepreneurs as well as existing entrepreneurs. The services included guidance relating to—
setting up an enterprise,
Government promotional schemes for MSMEs,
procedural formalities,
access to bank credit,
marketing assistance,
technology upgradation,
skill development and cluster development.
Therefore, it should not be understood as a Helpline meant only for female entrepreneurs. Women entrepreneurs could use it, but its target group was the broader community of MSME entrepreneurs.
