Detailed Solution

In the financial year 2014-15, Uttar Pradesh accounted for approximately 4.7% of India's total exports. Therefore, its share falls within the 4 to 5 percent range.

Traditionally, important contributors to Uttar Pradesh's exports have included handicrafts, carpets, leather products, textiles, engineering goods, agricultural and food products.

The State's export base is supported by the electronics and engineering cluster of Noida-Greater Noida, brassware of Moradabad, carpet industry of Bhadohi-Mirzapur, leather sector of Kanpur-Agra and handicrafts produced across several districts.

Over time, exports from Uttar Pradesh have increased, with greater emphasis on export promotion, infrastructure, logistics and district-specific products.

Current status: According to the Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Policy 2025, Uttar Pradesh exported about USD 20.57 billion in FY 2024, accounting for approximately 5% of India's total exports. Thus, the State's share has increased somewhat compared with about 4.7% in 2014-15.
