Correct Answer: C

Detailed Solution

The Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act, 1950 is included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution of India. In the current official text of the Constitution, it appears as Entry 11 of the Ninth Schedule.

The Ninth Schedule is associated with Article 31B. It was inserted into the Constitution by the Constitution (First Amendment) Act, 1951. Initially, it mainly contained laws relating to land reforms and abolition of zamindari so that major agrarian reforms could receive constitutional protection.

The primary objective of the Uttar Pradesh Act was to abolish the zamindari system and intermediary interests and reorganise land relations. It significantly altered the structure of land rights of cultivators.

A useful additional fact is that some subsequent amendments to this Act were also separately placed in the Ninth Schedule. For example, certain amendments made in 1971 and 1974 are included under Entry 179.
