बंगलुरू भारत के प्रमुख diversified industrial centres में रहा है। यहाँ engineering, electrical, electronics, machine tools, chemicals तथा rubber goods manufacturing सहित अनेक उद्योग विकसित हुए हैं।

Rubber industry में केवल natural rubber production ही शामिल नहीं होता, बल्कि tyres, tubes, hoses, industrial rubber components, footwear, moulded products तथा अन्य rubber goods का manufacturing भी सम्मिलित है। भारत का rubber-goods sector tyre और non-tyre दोनों segments में विकसित है। वर्तमान DPIIT material भी rubber goods को एक अलग महत्वपूर्ण industrial category के रूप में पहचानता है।
