Detailed Solution

The Indian Constitution organises different subjects into separate Parts. The correct sequence of the subjects given in the question is determined by the positions of their respective Parts in the Constitution.

I. The Union and its Territory — Part I

Part I of the Constitution extends from Articles 1 to 4. Article 1 declares India to be a Union of States. Article 2 deals with the admission or establishment of new States, while Article 3 deals with the formation of new States and alterations to the areas, boundaries or names of existing States.

III. Citizenship — Part II

Part II of the Constitution deals with citizenship under Articles 5 to 11. It contains provisions relating to citizenship at the commencement of the Constitution.

Article 11 empowers Parliament to make laws concerning the acquisition and termination of citizenship and other related matters. The Citizenship Act, 1955, was enacted under this power.

IV. Directive Principles of State Policy — Part IV

Part IV of the Constitution extends from Articles 36 to 51. It provides guiding principles for governance and policymaking by the State.

According to Article 37, these principles are not enforceable by any court, but they are fundamental in the governance of the country, and it is the duty of the State to apply them while making laws.

II. Fundamental Duties — Part IVA

Part IVA contains the Fundamental Duties of citizens under Article 51A. It was added to the Constitution by the 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1976.

Initially, there were 10 Fundamental Duties. An additional duty was inserted by the 86th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2002, increasing their number to 11.
