Correct Answer: C
Detailed Solution
The Sarkaria Commission was constituted by the Government of India in 1983 under the chairmanship of Justice R. S. Sarkaria to examine and review the existing arrangements and their working between the Centre and the States.
The Commission examined various aspects of federal relations, including legislative, administrative and financial Centre-State relations. It submitted its report in 1988 and made 247 recommendations concerning Centre-State relations.
One of the important recommendations of the Sarkaria Commission concerned the effective establishment of an Inter-State Council under Article 263. The Inter-State Council was subsequently established in 1990.
