Correct Answer: C
Detailed Solution
N. Gopalaswami Ayyangar and Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyar were both members of the Drafting Committee. The Constituent Assembly constituted the Drafting Committee on 29 August 1947. Its original seven members were Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, N. Gopalaswami Ayyangar, Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyar, K. M. Munshi, Mohammed Saadulla, B. L. Mitter and D. P. Khaitan.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was the Chairman of the Drafting Committee. Its task was to give systematic constitutional form to decisions already taken by the Constituent Assembly and to prepare the Draft Constitution on the basis of the material before it.
Jawaharlal Nehru was not a member of the Drafting Committee. He was associated with several important Constituent Assembly committees and chaired the Union Constitution Committee, but his name was not among the original seven members of the Drafting Committee.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also not a member of the Drafting Committee. He was prominently associated with bodies such as the Provincial Constitution Committee and the Advisory Committee dealing with Fundamental Rights, Minorities and Tribal Areas.
Thus—
(i) N. Gopalaswami ✓
(ii) Jawaharlal Nehru ✗
(iii) Alladi Krishnaswami Ayyar ✓
(iv) Sardar Patel ✗
