Detailed Solution

The Equator is the imaginary line at 0° latitude. In Africa, it passes through several countries while extending from west to east.

The Equator passes through Gabon. The United Nations map of Africa clearly shows the 0° latitude line crossing the territory of Gabon.

It also passes through the southern part of Somalia. The UN Africa map shows the Equator continuing eastward through southern Somalia before entering the Indian Ocean.

However, despite its name, the Equator does not cross the land territory of Equatorial Guinea. Its mainland and Bioko Island lie north of the Equator, while Annobón Island lies to the south; the 0° latitude line passes through the sea between them. The UN Geospatial country map places the mainland approximately between 1°N and 2°10′N.

Rwanda also lies south of the Equator, and the Equator does not cross its territory. The UN Africa map clearly places Rwanda south of the 0° latitude line.
