A.

North Korea

B.

South Korea

C.

Japan

D.

Correct Answer: C

Detailed Solution

The Nobi Plain is an extensive alluvial and delta plain situated at the head of Ise Bay in central Japan. It has been formed mainly by sediments deposited by the Kiso, Nagara and Ibi rivers. It extends principally across the Aichi and Gifu regions, and an important part of the Nagoya metropolitan region has developed on this plain.

The Kanto Plain is the largest plain in Japan. It extends across the east-central part of Honshu Island towards the Pacific Ocean. The Japanese capital, Tokyo, is situated on this plain. Tokyo, Yokohama and the surrounding large urban-industrial region are closely associated with the Kanto Plain.

In addition to river deposits, extensive Kanto Loam, consisting largely of volcanic-ash deposits, occurs across the Kanto Plain. The plain is therefore highly important for Japan's population, agriculture, industries and urban development.
