Detailed Solution

The correct answer is (d). Cotopaxi, Etna and Fujiyama are active volcanoes.

Cotopaxi is an active stratovolcano situated in the Andes of Ecuador. Its most recent eruptive phase occurred during 2022–2023, and its seismicity, deformation and gas emissions continue to be monitored. Its elevation is approximately 5,897–5,911 metres.

Mount Etna, situated in Sicily, Italy, is a highly active stratovolcano. It is one of the best-known active volcanoes of Europe and has repeatedly produced lava flows, Strombolian eruptions and ash emissions. Volcanic activity at Etna has continued to be recorded in 2026.

Fujiyama or Mount Fuji is the famous stratovolcano of Japan. Its last known eruption was the Hōei eruption of 1707–1708. Despite the long interval since its last eruption, it is not considered extinct and remains classified as an active volcanic system.

In contrast, Aconcagua is a mountain in the Andes of Argentina, about 6,961 metres high and the highest peak of South America, but it is not regarded as a presently active volcano.
