Kimberley–Diamond सही सुमेलन है। South Africa के Kimberley क्षेत्र में 1867 के बाद diamond discoveries ने बड़े पैमाने पर diamond mining को जन्म दिया। Kimberley के निकट मिले diamond fields ने South Africa की modern mining economy के विकास में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।

Witwatersrand–Gold भी सही है। Witwatersrand goldfields की खोज 1886 में हुई थी और यह क्षेत्र विश्व इतिहास के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण gold-producing regions में रहा है। South African Government के अनुसार Witwatersrand Basin आज भी विश्व का largest gold resource माना जाता है।

Katanga–Copper सही सुमेलन है। Democratic Republic of the Congo का Katanga sedimentary basin Central African Copperbelt का प्रमुख भाग है। यह belt विश्व के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण copper-producing regions में है और DRC के Kolwezi तथा Tenke-Fungurume जैसे विशाल copper deposits इसी क्षेत्र से जुड़े हैं।

Saar–Iron ore सही नहीं है। Saar region ऐतिहासिक रूप से coal, विशेषकर hard coal mining के लिए प्रसिद्ध रहा है। Saarland की economy और industrial development पर coal mining का गहरा प्रभाव रहा है। Iron ore का प्रमुख ऐतिहासिक स्रोत निकटवर्ती Lorraine region था; Saar के coal और Lorraine के iron ore ने मिलकर इस wider industrial belt के iron-steel industries के विकास में सहायता की। Saarland के आधिकारिक records इसकी ऐतिहासिक पहचान को Steinkohlenbergbau—hard-coal mining से जोड़ते हैं।
