निम्नलिखित में से कौन सी खरीफ फसल नहीं है ?
Which of the following is not a kharif crop?
A.
Cotton
B.
Groundnut
C.
Maize
D.
Mustard
Correct Answer: D
Detailed Solution
In India, cotton, groundnut and maize are generally included among the major Kharif crops. Kharif crops are normally sown with the onset of the southwest monsoon, and the major part of their growth takes place during the rainy season.
In contrast, mustard is primarily a Rabi crop. It is generally sown during the winter agricultural season after the monsoon has withdrawn and is harvested around spring.
The Government of India's Minimum Support Price classification also places maize, groundnut and cotton among Kharif crops, while mustard is classified as a Rabi crop.
