Agulhas Current दक्षिण-पश्चिमी Indian Ocean की एक शक्तिशाली warm western boundary current है। यह अफ्रीका के दक्षिण-पूर्वी तट के साथ दक्षिण की ओर गर्म tropical water ले जाती है और दक्षिण अफ्रीका के निकट इसका बड़ा भाग retroflect होकर पुनः Indian Ocean की ओर मुड़ जाता है।

Brazil Current भी एक warm current है। यह South Atlantic subtropical gyre की western boundary current है और Brazil के पूर्वी तट के साथ warm tropical/subtropical water को दक्षिण की ओर ले जाती है। आगे लगभग 38°S के आसपास इसका सामना उत्तर की ओर बहने वाली cold Malvinas/Falkland Current से होता है।

इसके विपरीत Humboldt Current, जिसे Peru Current भी कहा जाता है, South America के पश्चिमी तट के साथ बहने वाली cold current है। इसके साथ होने वाला coastal upwelling ठंडे, nutrient-rich deep water को सतह तक लाता है और Peru-Chile coast की productive fisheries में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।

California Current भी एक cold eastern boundary current है। यह North America के पश्चिमी तट के साथ सामान्यतः दक्षिण की ओर बहती है और coastal upwelling से जुड़ी है।
