3D printing को Additive Manufacturing भी कहा जाता है। इसमें Computer-Aided Design से तैयार digital model को पतली layers में विभाजित किया जाता है और material को परत-दर-परत जोड़कर three-dimensional वस्तु बनाई जाती है। यह machining जैसी subtractive manufacturing से अलग है, जिसमें material काटकर हटाया जाता है।

कथन 1 सही है। Food-grade ingredients को नियंत्रित मात्रा में layer-by-layer deposit करके chocolate, sugar decorations, dough और अन्य confectionery products बनाए जा सकते हैं। इससे जटिल आकृति, व्यक्तिगत design और ingredient की निश्चित मात्रा तैयार करना संभव होता है।
