Kaziranga National Park is located in Assam. It extends across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra Valley and covers about 42,996 hectares. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Kaziranga is internationally renowned for the conservation of the Greater One-horned Rhinoceros. Other important species found here include tigers, elephants and wild water buffaloes.
