The Supreme Court of India was inaugurated on 28 January 1950, two days after the Constitution came into force and India became a Republic.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the Chamber of Princes in the then Parliament building. This was the same chamber in which the Federal Court of India had functioned from 1937 to 1950.

It is important to distinguish these two dates—the Constitution of India came into force on 26 January 1950, whereas the Supreme Court was inaugurated on 28 January 1950. Therefore, options A and B should not be confused.
