In which of the following are the Fundamental Duties mentioned?
Correct Answer: A
Detailed Solution
The Fundamental Duties are contained in Part IVA of the Constitution of India. This Part contains Article 51A, which enumerates the Fundamental Duties of the citizens of India.
Part IVA and Article 51A were inserted into the Constitution by the 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1976, and came into force on 3 January 1977. At that time, 10 Fundamental Duties were introduced.
Later, the 86th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2002 inserted clause (k) in Article 51A, making it the duty of a parent or guardian to provide opportunities for education to a child or ward between the ages of 6 and 14 years. This provision came into force on 1 April 2010. Thus, Article 51A presently contains 11 Fundamental Duties.
