A.
Home Rule Movement
B.
Vande Movement
C.
Vandemataram Movement
D.

Correct Answer: C

Detailed Solution

In the delta/coastal areas of Andhra, the regional
expression of the Swadeshi Movement became popularly known as the ‘Vandemataram Movement’.

There is also direct regional historical evidence. The official history maintained by the East Godavari District Administration, Government of Andhra Pradesh, records that Bipin Chandra Pal visited Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) in April 1907 during the Vandemataram Movement and delivered speeches there continuously for five days. Rajamahendravaram was an important centre associated with the Godavari delta region.

Following the Partition of Bengal, the wider Swadeshi Movement promoted the use of indigenous goods and the boycott of foreign goods. In Andhra, this nationalist wave acquired the regional form known as the Vandemataram Movement.

1905 → Partition of Bengal and rise of the Swadeshi Movement
Regional nationalist expression in Andhra → Vandemataram Movement
1907 → Bipin Chandra Pal's Rajamahendravaram visit during the Vandemataram Movement
