Detailed Solution
The Simon Commission first came to India in 1928. Its official name was the Indian Statutory Commission, and it was chaired by Sir John Simon. All seven members of the Commission were British and there was no Indian member, which led to widespread opposition in India. When the Simon Commission arrived in India in 1928, it was greeted with the slogan “Simon Go Back.”
